DB obtains AEO status
On December 22nd 2011 DB was certified by the Dutch Customs Authority as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO). DB has been accredited by the Customs especially thanks to the quality and reliability of the internal processes.
DB's AEO status proves not only to both customers and suppliers that DB controls its internal processes, but also that it is a financially healthy and safe organization; no fraud takes place and its administration is transparent. This all proves DB to be a reliable business partner. The AEO-certification entitles DB to simplified customs procedures.
With its AEO status, DB can be considered throughout the European Union and beyond as a reliable partner with regard to customs transactions. It also offers all kinds of benefits in international trading, such as a more flexible logistic processes and no additional delays resulting from customs controls.
The Customs offers holders of an AEO certificate the following benefits:
1. fewer physical and documentary customs checks;
2. priority handling in selection for a check;
3. the right to apply to have any checks performed at a preferred location;
4. in the event of a later permit application, previously checked criteria are not checked again;
5. intensified security process/policy on goods flows and personnel.
Especially world wide operating NGOs and Relief Agencies will benefit from DB´s AEO status. Delivery of emergency stocks will not be delayed due to Customs procedures. Just give it a try and find the difference: DB serves on a not-for-profit base!
AEO: Authorised Economic Operator
One of the main elements of the security amendment of the Community Customs Code ( Regulation (EC) 648/2005) is the creation of the AEO concept.
On the basis of Article 5a of the security amendments, Member States can grant the AEO status to any economic operator meeting the following common criteria: customs compliance, appropriate record-keeping, financial solvency and, where relevant, security and safety standards.
The status of authorised economic operator granted by one Member State is recognised by the other Member States. This does not automatically allow them to benefit from simplifications provided for in the customs rules in the other Member States. However, other Member States should grant the use of simplifications to authorised economic operators if they meet specific requirements.
Economic operators can apply for an AEO status either to have easier access to customs simplifications or to be in a more favourable position to comply with the new security requirements. Under the security framework, which has been applicable since 1 July 2009, economic operators have to submit pre-arrival and pre-departure information on goods entering or leaving the EU. The security type of AEO certificate and the combined one allow their holders to benefit from facilitations with regard to the new customs controls relating to security.
More information about AEO to be found here.

Transportation challenges in Pakistan after the floods.
Unrelenting downpours, new floods and landslides are hampering efforts to provide urgently needed food to millions of people displaced or stranded by floods across Pakistan.
Although water had begun to recede in some areas, new rains have closed roads and washed out bridges, making it difficult for aid workers to move around the country.
"Until the water recedes or we have access to boats or helicopters, it will be nearly impossible for our teams to access some of the worst affected areas for assessments and delivery of relief supplies" said Shaharyar Bangash, a World Vision program manager.
Since late nineties DB supplies all kind of 4x4 vehicles and non-food relief items to World Vision and many other NGO's around the globe. Whenever your NGO needs support in transportation as well, please contact DB for actual stock at info@debaanderij.nl.

Ex-army truck to Ghana
Sharing is one of world's important wisdoms. The Dutch Ministry of Justice enjoys a good relationship with their colleagues in Ghana, who shared about the transportation problems of the Immigration & Integrating Department in Accra.
The Dutch colleagues decided to donate an ex-army DAF truck for the work. This 4-wheel drive truck is exactly what fulfilled the needs. DB organised the whole process of getting permission, selecting, collection, serving and spraying, and last but not least, transportation. No integrating course needed for such a strong truck!
Mission
Everyone has got a mission. For some that is a good career, joining your family, planning a holiday… The Los family has another mission. They went in love, based on their Christian belief, to Nepal, to serve the poorest of the poor. Transportation was needed for 213 kg and DB arranged airfreight at spectacular rates.
DB helping the needy - that's our mission. Saving money without compromising quality or professionalism. How can DB help you with your mission?
